The UD5 was designed for standard 4½" walls and overhead trim that does not exceed 4" wide. It is not uncommon for older homes, 50+ years, military barracks and some condo construction to have 5½" or 6½" walls. Just measure your wall thickness from drywall of one room to drywall of hallway. Our 20" custom "L" arms allow you to use your UD5 on standard thickness 4 ½" as well as 5 ½" walls and 6 ½" walls. In addition to this, these arms allow you to use your bar on standard trim above your door (4") as well as trim up to 6".

What's so different about the UD-5?

  1. Wider Grip

    The New UD-6 is 37" wide. The widest grip (palms away) is less than 31" on the competition pull up bars. (Note: One importer has a broad reach attachment that almost doubles the price. This option is still only 36" wide.)

  2. Proper Fit

    Other bars really only fit properly on a 30" doorway even though they say it will fit most doorways. The UD-5 fits 24" to 32" doorways. (Note: The Chinese bars have 2.5" straight foam pieces that rest on your wood trim. The UD5 bar has 6.5" foam pieces that are at the same beveled angle as your door trim.)

  3. Hand Crafted vs Mass Produced

    The UD5 is hand crafted with critical parts mig welded for additional strength. Mig welding strategic parts allows the UD-5 to be more compact than the competition bars with the broad reach attachments.) Other bars are mass produced with all the parts bolted together by the customer. Some need up to 10 bolts or screws.

  4. Warranty

    The UD-5 has a lifetime warranty. The competition has a limited 30-day warranty.

  5. More Grips

    Most Chinese made bars have about 27" of foam grip for 2 or 3 positions. The UD-5 has 37" of foam covered grips for six different grips.

  6. Elbow Clearance

    The UD-5 sits 4" away from your door frame. The Made-in-China bars sit on your door frame and have your elbows rub the moment you use palms away pull up grip.
